    the state of things
Over break I started writing again. Ninety-five percent of my stuff is in California in the lime green notebook that I have hidden behind my favorite book. In this notebook is mostly crazy dreams I've had but there is some random attempts at poetry in it. Crazy free verse shit and some scribbled haikus, ballads, couplets, sestinas and even a sonnet or two. I'd say Neruda, Lorca, Paz and Blanco are my greatest influences, and coincidently they are all ethnically challenged. I wrote a poem in class and shared it with two people, first one I've ever shared, and due to them being on drugs or some act of God they appreciated it. Now I may not go down in history, but I will go down on your sister.
If you want to kill someone you should join the army, make a difference, volunteer; get laid, go to a bar; kill pain, take drugs; but if you just don't give a fuck, go to school. I don't want to steal too much from Kweli but sometimes life's like a drug, tripping me out and fucking me up, making me what I want to be and don't at the same time. Except for I haven't done any drugs since the beginning of break. That'll happen when think, feel and hear too much, especially about the shit you don't give a fuck about.
Now I could probably care less about failed relationships, uneasiness, anxiety, if your grandma dies, where you get your propaganda, the gossip or why the fuck you would stab someone because you are a fascist and don't like immigrants. So apparently I have a ways to go before its considered self loathing.
I'm supposed to go to Africa, I heard that George went last year and it was unimaginably intense and emotional. I'm definitely expecting a few late night breakdowns. But I wouldn't want to go if it would be Africa light, TIA bitch.
So I only have one mistake this semester, and I can't even be blamed for it. You can't judge a book by its cover, you have to read it to find out what it's like, and believe me, I read the hell out of that book.
Philosophizing over a glass of red label can be one of the most liberating things ever, real liberty, not american liberty. Jeremiah was wondering what happens after this life, I offered to help him find out faster. He would only oblige me if I said I'd come right after to see for sure. I said I'd consider it.
I'll fake it through the day with some help from Johnny Walker Red-Mr. Smith

also, give me your address and i'll send you a postcard, maybe.

"So my friend was tripping on acid and he got into an argument with his mom. He ended up chasing after her for 30 or 40 kilometers with a can of gas and a lighter trying to light her on fire. After he didn't even know his own name. Thats when I decided to stop doing drugs."

The human person is a complex bundle of emotions and desires, torn by conflict, wanting to do good but faltering given a divided and weak will. Language is a constitutive part of human nature that expresses our humanity but also associates us to one another. Belief is a route to understanding rather than in conflict with warranted claims. Human life is intrinsically social and this is the source of complex human friendships and loves but also a cauldron of hostility, suspicion, and enmity. Peace is the foremost yearning of the human heart. A lust to dominate threatens earthly peace and divides the soul as well as creating rifts in human societies. Evil is falling away from the good as human beings fall into the sin of pride. War flows from the lust to dominate and its ravages are, in part, a punishment for pride. The just wage wars only from stark necessity and in order to protect those who cannot defend themselves.

    on my couch
As Jeremiah and myself were sitting on our couch talking rather anxiously about the forthcoming readings we had to do something was revealed to me. The spark inside of myself was this, for the reading I had was now part of public domain, and being the swindler that i am, i found myself the audiobook version of the book that i was supposed to be reading, after downloading i immediately listened to the assigned chapters, and to say the least, swindle is as swindle does. After that ruth came home and got mad at me for not sweeping, i told her i would do it later(then never did). ROFL. well thats that and the next day i demanded a job in the library and thus was granted. I was informed that there are now 2 library workers so my job will consist of literally nothing. YESSS. ok time for a paseo. ciao bitches

I really hope Hillary wins the election. How could anyone not vote for her? Of course national security is more important than human rights, humans only have rights because the nation-state allows them to anyways. We should only be so lucky. I have also never felt safer since she helped to reauthorize the patriot act, furthermore there is no way the government should need to have a warrant to wiretap someone. They are probably a terrorist anyways if we think they need to be wiretapped. Eight convictions out of four hundred people charged is a pretty good statistic. She is also keeping us safe my helping to build a fence along the Mexico/US border. Finally someone who keeps the ethnics out so us whites can take our jobs back. Her only flaw is not voting to have english as the official language of the US. Come on Hillary, step it up, you know its the best language ever created. I think we can save America with Hillary in '08
If not her then at least Huckabee

on a less serious note, just some light reading this semester...

    Conclusion
The theory of the WTO is actually quite excellent. The idea of promoting free trade on a global scale has done wonders for the world in terms of the transaction of not only goods, but ideas as well.
The WTO, however, needs to be restructured in a way that makes for global sustainable in the long run, not just for the time being. There needs to be some sort of human element incorporated into the WTO. Everything can not just be about numbers and if an economy is doing well or not. People are the back bone of economy, without the people economies would fail and crumble. Taking this into perspective, corporations, governments, and the WTO need to realize this and begin to implement new strategies that will benefit people, not economies. It could be said that it is not the system that is wrong, just the people that are in charge of it. The leaders must find an area where trade and human rights can coexist in order to maximize production and trade while respecting humanity as the sacred thing that it is.
Restructuring, beginning with the UN’s Declaration on Human Rights would be a good place to begin. After this, tougher and stricter environmental laws must be put into place and regularly enforced by the WTO, or member countries. Then new and fresh ideas must be implemented in an “out with the old and in with the new” type thinking. New and younger faces must be implemented into the WTO and world trade policies. Younger faces breed new, fresh, and modern ideas opposed to the waning ideas and thought process of the members currently in charge whose ideas have been implemented and the results have been seen--unfruitfully. ‘The problem is not globalization[or the WTO], the problem is “the ability of global elites to make the rules”’
